A Study on Health Care Service Conducted in Urban Poor Area






Abstract
This study was carried out a Community Medical Service Project of Pusan National University for Unbong Permanent Rental Apartment inhabitants from december 1993 to december 1994, and the results based on the charts of total 505 patients from
weekly
service program were as follows.
1. Among the total served 505 patients, male numbered 140(27.7%), so females for outnumbered to males in the sex ratio of 1:2.6.
2. In age distribution, the most frequent age group was 50~59 age group covered 24.8% of all, and the least frequent age group was 20~29 age group covered only 1.8%, thus over 40 aged patients comanded overwhelming majority in the proportion of
88% of
all.
3. The complaints of 505 patients were classified into 707 cases -1.52 cases for each patient -and the most frequent complaint was epigastric pain which occupied 11.3% of all. Analyzing complaints by age distribution, in under 30 age group
coughing
marked most frequent complain, in 30~`59 age group epigatric pain, in 60~79 age group lower back pain, and in over 80 age group coughing marked most frequently.
4. In disaease distribution, it ranked arthritis 87 cases(13.1%), gastritis 75 cases(11.3%), URI 51 cases(7.7%), hypertention 48 cases(7.3%) in order. Analyzing by age distribution, in under 30 age group URI marked most frequently, in 30~39 age
group
gastitis, in 40~79age group arthritis in over 80 age group chronic obstructive pulmonary disease marked most frequent distribution. In sex-disease distribution, male account for gastritis and female for arthritis respectively as a most frequent
distribution.
